My Newest Alzheimer's Disease Book!

Helping Children Understand Alzheimer's Disease Book

Introducing "Helping Children Understand Alzheimer’s Disease" was written with the goal of educating and supporting our children through their families journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease not only affects the life of the person with the diagnosis, but also the caregiver’s life and the family’s life. The one group we rarely think about is the lives of our precious children. They too are impacted when a parent, grandparent or relative is struggling with an incurable memory related condition.

"Helping Children Understand Alzheimer’s Disease" is a book appropriate for teens to read. It was featured in the Duke Family Support Triangle Area Monthly News, April 2017, books for parents and kids.

Alzheimer's Disease Series of Books

It is with great hope that my book, Bitter/Sweet, After Thoughts of a Daughter-in-Law, will bring some comfort and understanding to anyone traveling this most unwelcomed journey. "Bitter/Sweet" is a memoir about our family's journey with Alzheimer's disease.

My children's books, "Elephants Never Forget, Daisy’s Story" and "Lucky, The Little Monkey" will help children and teens gain insight into and understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and into their importance in the lives of their loved ones touched by this disease. "Daisy" is the story of an elephant who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. "Lucky", the sequel to "Daisy" is written for teenagers and adults and describes how Lucky transforms his grief into action and advocacy.

Blue Butterfly Series of Books

The first book is Blue Butterfly...Looking for Joy. It is an introduction to the series and to all the characters.

Each book in the series has a color which is associated with a feeling. All the characters are struggling because of an unfortunate event when Blue comes to their aid and takes time to help even though he is on his own mission in life to find joy and each character says he can't help them. Each book can stand alone and each has a takeaway message for children to learn from. The overall message is the true meaning of joy is using your life's journey to help others without expecting anything in return.
